Ten80 has partnered with Pitsco Education, Future STEAM, and the Kansas Electric Cooperatives in a solar energy competition. More than just wiring solar panels, the SunPowered Student Challenge was developed to address a need for a more-informed public around the issues of renewable energy generation, distribution, and consumption in today’s interconnected energy systems.
The curriculum guides students through activities related to grid-tied model solar arrays and full-scale solar arrays.
High school students in Kansas are invited to participate in a statewide competition, and may be eligible for sponsorship from their local REC (Rural Electric Cooperative). Students in other states are invited to complete the curriculum and projects and showcase their work locally.
With 10 or more teams, and a local/regional sponsor, Ten80 will produce a competition in your area/state.

Ten80 has partnered with Brookfield Renewables N.A. and various BOCES in New York State to develop a Renewable Energy Challenge that combines hands-on models with full-scale conceptual learning and research.
